As readers accept her view of life as a comedy of manners, they have increasingly sent Miss Manners not only their table and party questions but also those involving romance, work and family relationships. Martin is the author of many social guides and, since 1978, regular syndicated newspaper and Internet columns covering the subject of proper social behavior. Martin and her newlywed daughter, Jacobina, suggest how to have a “delightful celebration” without, as Miss Manners says, “succumbing to the now prevalent pattern of the vulgar, moneydraining wedding that exhausts families and exploits friends.” Martin’s many books will be available for purchase and autographing. The brunch is not only for those seeking wedding advice, as it will also appeal a bigger general audience seeking the entertainment value of the etiquette advice columnist’s appearances. Tickets for Brunch with Miss Manners are $20 and reservations are required. The event is open to the Tampa Bay community. “wedding brunch” at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2713 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa, is sponsored by the congregation’s Sisterhood. Martin’s appearance is part of the Tampa Jewish Community Center’s 2010 Jewish Book Festival.

Judith Martin, also known as Miss Manners, will highlight her latest book, Miss Judith Martin with her co-author, daughter Jacobina Martin
